Transfer Students
Students who have completed course work at a previously attended college or university and wish to receive transfer credit at LFCC, must take the following actions:
- submit a completed application for admission
- have official transcripts and a catalog or course descriptions sent directly from the schools attended
- submit Transcript Evaluation Request Form (available from Admissions and Records Office)
Students ineligible to return to the last college attended must petition in writing to the Registrar for admission a minimum of 30 days prior to general registration. The College will decide on each case and may impose special conditions for admittance.
Decisions regarding Placement Testing for transfer students are dependent on prior collegiate work. Persons desiring additional information should see the Catalog or contact the Admissions and Records Office.

Auditing
Auditing means enrolling in a course for which a student would neither receive credit nor be required to take examinations. Registration for audit status is confined to the period of the beginning date of the term/course to the last date to register late and must be approved by the faculty member and a Dean of Instruction or Dean of Workforce Services and Continuing Education.
Adding or Withdrawing from a Course(s)
Request to add or withdraw must be signed by the student and becomes effective the date received in the Admissions Office. Course adds must be approved by the student's faculty advisor or counselor. Course professor's signature, or the appropriate Dean's when professor is not available, is required to withdraw from a course(s), unless withdrawing from all courses in which case a counselor's signature is required.
Cancellation of a Course(s)
Lord Fairfax Community College may cancel courses not meeting minimum enrollment requirements.
Instructor or Classroom Delivery Changes
The College also reserves the right to change instructors or classroom delivery (Web, classroom, independent study or distance education) to accommodate class availability, size or structure without prior notice.
Senior Citizens
Senior citizens are encouraged to take advantage of tuition-free courses. Virginia citizens age 60 or older: 1) may enroll in credit courses for credit if their Virginia taxable income did not exceed $10,000 for the preceding year, 2) may enroll in credit courses for AUDIT (no credit) regardless of income. Senior citizens eligible for free tuition will register the day a session begins on a space available basis at the Admissions and Records Office.
