International Students

ARE YOU REQUESTING AN I-20?

If you are attempting to obtain the F-1 Non-Immigrant Student Visa, you must submit your signed request to the Admissions and Records Office at LFCC to issue an Immigration and Naturalization Service (INS) form I-20. You must include your country of birth and country of citizenship. Please note that LFCC issues the I-20 ONLY to persons who are in the United States (U.S.).

LFCC does not:

  1. have an international student advisor,
  2. provide services intended specifically for international students, or
  3. provide training in English as a second language.

You are encouraged to visit LFCC's Web site at http://www.lfcc.edu to obtain information about the College and its programs.

You may apply for admission to LFCC at https://apply.vccs.edu.

If you need the U.S. Citizen and Immigration Services (USCIS) form "Affidavit of Support" (form I-134), visit the USCIS Web site at http://www.uscis.gov.

The policy of LFCC is to admit to the College those applicants who are immigrants residing in Virginia and have graduated from a Virginia high school with a high school diploma or equivalent, even if they are not able to document their legal presence. Those who are undocumented will pay tuition at the out-of-state rate.

PROCEDURES FOR ISSUANCE OF AN I-20:

  • LFCC issues I-20s, but ONLY to applicants already in the United States at the time of application.
  • Financial aid is not available to international students.
  • You must be a full-time (enrolled in at least 12 credits) student.
  • You must be formally admitted to a transfer degree program.
  • Students who entered the U.S. to study at another college, university or language school must successfully complete at least one term satisfactorily at that institution and meet transfer requirements as mandated by USCIS.
