Mr. Charlie Spiro is an Assistant Professor in Information Technology

Education:

  • Associate of Applied Science degrees in Electronics, Lord Fairfax Community College
  • Associate of Applied Science degree in Accounting, Lord Fairfax Community College
  • Bachelor of Arts in Economics, C.W. Post College of Long Island University
  • Bachelor of Science in Electronic Engineering Technology, Capitol College in Maryland
  • Extensive coursework at the master level (2 master degree programs), Shenandoah University

Background & Experience:

Mr. Spiro has taught electronics and information systems technology at LFCC for the past twenty-four years.

LFCC Teaching:

Mr. Spiro has taught numerous courses in his 24 years at LFCC. He presently teaches courses in:
  • Introduction to Computer Applications and Concepts (ITE 115)
  • Network Fundamentals and Internet Technologies (ITN 101/109)
  • Linux Administration (ITN 170)
  • Web Page Design (ITD 110, ITD 210)
  • Web Page Graphics (ITD 112)

Certifications & Professional Affiliations:

Mr. Spiro is a Certified Electronics Technician (International Society of CET), Linux+ system administrator, and CIW Master Designer (web design.) He has also held the Certified Cisco Network Administrator (CCNA) credential. He is the first faculty member to be on the LFCC Educational Foundation Board. In 2006, Mr. Spiro was presented with the Distinguished Faculty Award.
