IT is forecasted to be one of the fastest growing job sectors over the next 10 years. According to the Occupational Outlook Handbook 2006-07 Edition and the U.S. Department of Labor's Bureau of Labor Statistics, jobs for Web designers/developers, system and network administrators, information security analysts and database administrators will increase more than 27 percent by the year 2014.

Lord Fairfax Community College's (LFCC) Information Systems Technology (IST) Program offers four associate degrees and seven certificate programs that:
  • prepare students for the workforce and industry-standard certifications
  • serve as a pathway for transfer to a four-year college or university
  • train IT professionals for new and evolving technology-related positions
