Orientation for First-time Online Learners
Online learning provides our students with convenient and flexible opportunities to complete course requirements. The faculty and staff at LFCC want to provide our new online learners with every opportunity to succeed. With that goal in mind, the Instructional Technology Office will be providing a series of hands-on workshops that will include an introduction to the Blackboard course management system, the VCCS student e-mail system, and various resources that are available to you through our Learning Resource Centers (i.e. libraries) to enhance your online learning experience.
If you plan to register for your first online course at LFCC for the summer 2008 semester or if you plan to take your first online course at LFCC in the near future, we encourage you to attend one of the workshops. If you simply want to learn more about Blackboard, VCCS student e-mail, and/or LFCC’s library resources, we welcome you to attend one of the workshops, too.
Dates and times of the workshops are as follows:
- Tuesday, May 27 at the Fauquier Campus: 1 to 3 p.m. in Room 109
- Wednesday, May 28 at the Middletown Campus: 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. in Room 256
Please RSVP to Selma Harter (sharter@lfcc.edu) if you plan to attend. It is very important that you pre-register so that we have you on the roster. Be sure to specify which session you plan to attend and provide your MyLFCC username so that you can be included in the Blackboard e-learning classroom.
Contact Joan Osborne at josborne@lfcc.edu or 540-868-7190 if you have any questions about the upcoming workshops.
